2- Ethylhexanol
2-Eethyl hexanol is used to make plasticizers for polyvinyl chloride. It has a high boiling point and a characteristic odour. It is miscible with most organic solvents but has only limited miscibility in water. 2 Ethyl hexanol is a low-volatility solvent which will readily form esters with a broad range of acids.
Isobutanol
Isobutanol is used as a raw material for coating resins, Isobutyl acrylate, isobutyl acetate, isobutyl methacrylate, and paint thinners. On the other hand, Isobutanol is a 4-carbon branched-chain alcohol used as a raw material for coating resins, Isobutyl acrylate, isobutyl acetate, isobutyl methacrylate, and paint thinners.
Methanol
Methanol and its derivative products such as ascetic acid and formaldehyde created via chemical reactions are used as base materials in acrylic plastic; synthetic fabrics and fibers used to make clothing; adhesives, paint, and plywood used in construction; and as a chemical agent in pharmaceuticals and agrichemicals.
n-Butanol
N-butanol is used as a solvent for paints, coatings, varnishes, fats, oils, waxes, rubber, and plasticizers.Butanol can be used as a chemical intermediate to create other chemicals (e.g., esters, n-butyl acetate, and amino resins); alternatively, it can be used as a solvent in the creation of consumer products.
Isopropyl Alcohol
Isopropyl alcohol is mixed with water for use as a rubbing-alcohol antiseptic. It is also used in aftershave lotions, hand lotions, and other cosmetics. In industry it is used as an inexpensive solvent for cosmetics, drugs, shellacs, and gums, as well as for denaturing ethanol (ethyl alcohol).
Ethanol
Ethanol is an important industrial chemical; it is used as a solvent, in the synthesis of other organic chemicals, and as an additive to automotive gasoline (forming a mixture known as a gasohol). Ethanol is also the intoxicating ingredient of many alcoholic beverages such as beer, wine, and distilled spirits.
Polyvinyl Alcohol
PVA is used in many industries, such as textile, paper industry, and food packaging industry [29,54] because of its high chemical and thermal stability, and low manufacturing cost [77]. It is also a popular water-soluble polymer and has high strength and high optical transparency in water.
Diacetone Alcohol
Diacetone alcohol is mainly used in paints and coatings (coil coatings, wood varnishes, architectural coatings…). It is a good solvent for organic peroxides and can also be used for the treatment of textiles and leather, in chemical synthesis, or as a cleaning solvent.
